We got her home, set up her bed with her blanket from Cathy's. She's curled up and sleeping on one of our cushions instead. Not that I mind, but we *did* buy her the bed specifically.
I was unpacking my books today, when I came across a very special document.
A lot of my friends now didn't know me then (in fact, none of the Voxerhood did), some of them couldn't make it, but these are the vows that Don and I wrote for our wedding:
Like the roots of the great trees of the forest
I am intertwined with you
Like the river flows on a path set by its bed
I shape you, and you shape me
Like the light and the darkness
Our differences give birth to tremendous beauty
Like the notes of a song
When we are together, we are more than both of us apart
Like the muscle and bone of my body
You are my support
Like the light of the sun on a summer's day
I bask in the warmth of your presence
Like the beautiful paintings on the walls of the world
I have found beauty in you
Your heart speaks to my heart
Your soul speaks to mine
In love, I am yours
I have to say, I'm very proud of this piece of writing, as much for being able to say it now like I said it 3 years ago as for the intrinsic beauty of the words.
Anyway, love to you all!
I've submitted the final Major Revision of my thesis!
This week it's grammar and spelling.
8 days:I will have performed my final edits and submitted my thesis for good. The Last (Wednesday Night) Supper. We're going out somewhere (don't know where as yet).
9 days: Figuring out how the hell to pack everything into my suitcases. I may need to get another one.
10 days: I'll be having my farewell thing, eating Mexican at the Prickly Cactus and drinking Fishbowl Margaritas. This will be followed by heading over my beloved Northern Club and downing mystery shots, BHPs, and possibly some Absinthe. Danielle is coming to that from Burnie! Woohoo! None of my voxerhood are coming because they're slack (and because not one of them lives in Tasmania any more (oh, except Olivia, she's coming!))
11 days: Lunch with the family, officially for my sister's birthday, also officially the last time I'll see Mum, Dad, Rowan and Renata before I move. TasUnity is throwing me a farewell dinner of their own. They do such fantastic food! I swear being a good cook is a prerequisite for being a TasUnity Host.
12 days: all my waverley possessions will either be at Lulworth (like the bed and alarm clock) or in my suitcase(s). Staying with the lovely Glennys and Anne, who are taking me to the airport the next day. Dinner at Susie's Hoong Fatt with the G&A, David and John, and Scott. Yay!
13 days: probably an early flight (Don flew out at 6:30am) and then I'll be in Tannum Sands. OMFG I can't wait! I miss Don so much!
Today was pretty crappy.
I mean, it was a great day, but there were two significant events that were crap, one I knew would be, and the other was a complete surprise.
The pre-planned crappiness was putting Cariad on the boat. We had a great time, but it took pretty much everything I had not to cry while she was hugging J goodbye. I knew that moment when the goodbye became real was gonna feel pretty shitty. Having said that... Cariad, I'm glad you're going to do this for you! I'm glad you're going to experience real independence! But most of all, I'm glad I'm moving somewhat closer to Brisbane. We might actually get to see each other!
The surprise crappiness occurred on the way home from the boat. Some idiot at Andy's Bakery (Westbury) decided that it would be a great idea to put apricot jam on top of Pecan Pie! Pecan Pie should be Crust, Pecans, and brown-sugary-caramel-stuff. End of Story. Apricot Jam on Pecan Pie is messing with perfection, and should be legally prohibited. (I loooooooove Pecan Pie. It pains me when it's screwed up, esp since it's so easy to get right!)
I kinda forget what week this is.
Today I lost 1.7 kg, taking me down to 95.2 which is tied lowest I've been this year. I have found that the uni gym scales are outta whack. I'm gonna go weigh myself on them in a minute to be sure, but I *know* they're more than 200g outta whack (they tell me I'm lighter than I am) that means that I've lost over 20kg!
:D
hurrah!
Hey Hey!
I just spoke to Telstra, and they can move me to a $79 cap! So I've signed up. I have to make Mobile Phone Repayments, (of $62/month) and also pay a plan fee of $79/month, but for this, I get $450(+100 to other Telstra Phones) of calls.
This beats the pants off last time I tried to do it when they told me that I'd need to cancel my existing contract (at a cost of $800) to move onto the cap.
Huzzah for credit!
Well, you know how last week I needed to lose 0.4kg to get back to where I was?
I lost 1.9kg baby! (4 lb, for you poor souls in the US!)
That takes me down to 95.2kg (209 lb)
which means what? Well, I started at a bit over 115kg, (253lb) so....
I've lost at least 19.8kg(~43.5lb) since February this year!!!!!!
Oh, My, God. This is why maths is cool. *laughs*
Also!
Tony Ferguson Head Office has asked my TF Agency to put forward some people as potential promo folks. They've (My Agency) asked me if (if I fit the criteria, which they read to me and were equally confused by) I'd be interested in being a Tony Ferguson posterboy! (Includes $250/month to go towards fruit etc for the next 6 months). Apparently, I've been one of their biggest losers!
I am so psyched!
Well folks! it's Results Day again!
Advanced Computer Security: 86% High Distinction
Advanced Computer Networks: 73% Distinction
Data Mining and Machine Learning: 72% Distinction
For the record:
50%=Pass
60%=Credit
70%=Distinction
80%=High Distinction.
So I just scored my Distinctions, but apparently I reasonably well deserved my HD. I've just worked out that I scored 92% on the exam for that unit!
I only Credited the exam for Data Mining (66%)
and I can't work out networks since I *still* don't have the results for that second assignment back yet.
but yay good marks when I was worried about how I did on the exams!
:D
Hi!
It's Friday again, and I went and weighed in.
I lost another 2.2kg (~4.5 lb) this week!
running total = 5.6kg (~12lb)
Woohoo!
I won a scholarship worth $5000 for next year! I assume that means I've been accepted for the Honours position!
Woooo!
